A range of Ministry of Education resources of particular value to English language learners can be accessed from Down the Back of the Chair.

Some key resources on this site are:

English Language Learning Progressions (ELLP) explain what ESOL specialists and mainstream teachers need to know about English language learners.
Supporting English language learning in primary schools (SELLIPS) This resource, intended for mainstream and ESOL teachers of students in years 1–8, comprises four booklets for different year levels. It gives suggestions for developing students’ academic language in curriculum contexts.
