EAP unit standard 30508, version 1: Write a short crafted text for a specified audience using resource material in English for an academic purpose.
This sequence is designed for learners commencing a pathway to tertiary study. It is aimed at learners who are learning to write academic texts using resource material.
The teaching and learning sequences will scaffold and prepare students for the formative and summative assessment against this standard. The teaching and learning sequences link to the dimensions of effective practice. Lessons are built around principles of effective teaching and learning for English language learners. Teachers will also need to make links to relevant key competencies. Each learning task includes strategies to scaffold the skills required to achieve this standard.
