Over the past week there has been a lot of discussion related to Samantha’s request for support with teaching speech writing. If you want to follow the threads of this conversation and the ideas that have been suggested look in the archives.
It is interesting to follow events in education worldwide and Phil has suggested a look at a UK teachers’ site where comment is made on topical issues for education in the UK. There are also a lot of other interesting aspects to this site.
You might also want to familiarise yourself with the Ontario Ministry of Education site and their focus on improved literacy and numeracy outcomes for students. You will enjoy their capacity building papers written to support this focus. Some of the titles are: Reading Fluency, Non-fiction writing for the junior student, ELL voices in the classroom, Let’s talk about listening, are a few.
