Virtual Learning Network

The community mailing lists provide a connection between teachers and the content of the websites. Satellite social network spaces, such as the VLN Groups and Twitter, offer a choice of connections back to the main community and websites.
The monthly newsletter provides a summary of the activity across all 5 communities and directs subscribers to new content on the sites.

The Virtual Learning Network (VLN), He kōtuinga ako ā-ipurangi, is an interactive resource provided by the Ministry of Education for all New Zealand educators.

Primary ESOL Online This group is moderated by Janet McQueen. It is a space for all primary teachers and ESOL specialists to share their ideas, resources and issues around meeting the needs of English language learners.

Secondary ESOL Online (VLN) This group is moderated by Breda Matthews. It is a space for is for all secondary teachers and ESOL specialists to share their ideas, resources and issues around meeting the needs of English language learners.

English Language unit standards assessment group This group has been set up by the ELL PLD facilitators to discuss and share experiences and resources preparing for the transition to EL unit standards assessment.

English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Unit Standards This group is for secondary teachers using the EAP standards for ELLs.

Enabling e-Learning Enabling e-Learning is the Ministry of Education’s online ‘hub’ for ICT-related education resources and programmes in New Zealand.
